Tentpole (“the app”) is a film pre-production planning tool published by Artifact Video (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. We keep data collection to what the app needs to work. It is available as apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and as a web app at tentpole.artifact.video.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see your plaintext password.
Your content. The projects you create — titles, story structure, notes, character and location names, and other text you enter — are stored so they sync across your devices and to collaborators you invite. Images you add are stored locally on your device; they are not uploaded to our servers at this time.
Research you provide to AI features. If you use “Generate from research,” the documents and files you attach (text, PDFs, images) are sent to our AI provider to produce a draft story structure. See “AI processing” below.
Collaboration data. If you invite a collaborator, we process the email address you enter to send an invitation and to grant access to the shared project.
Basic technical/diagnostic data. Standard information needed to operate the service (e.g. connection and error information). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content or research to train our own models.
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us:
When paid plans launch, we will add Stripe (web payments) and Apple (in-app purchase / Sign in with Apple) here — we will not receive or store full card numbers.
When you use “Generate from research,” the files you attach are transmitted to our backend function and forwarded to Anthropic for processing. Only the research you choose to attach for a given generation is sent. The resulting draft is saved as a new project in your account. If you don't use this feature, no content is sent to the AI provider.
We keep your account and project data until you delete it. You can delete individual projects in the app, and you can delete your entire account and its data at any time. See Account & data deletion. Locally stored images are removed from the device when the associated project or account is deleted.
We share data only with the processors listed above, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your projects is enforced by database row-level security so that only you and collaborators you invite can read or change them.
Tentpole is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to receive a portable copy, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise deletion directly in the app or contact us for other requests; we will verify and respond within the time required by law.
Our providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using the app you understand your information may be processed in these locations.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, notifying you in the app.
